My Favourites from the Eurovision Song Content 2011
Jedward: Lipstick
Eldrine: One More Day
PS. I stayed away from all the youtube videos and anything else related to the Eurovision until it was broadcast on Australian TV. I had my wine and my Finnish beanie, but as soon as I had seen the Finnish Entry (not even worth a plug!) I threw my beanie at the TV. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING! Sigh....
A wife, a mother, a grandma too, This is the legacy we have from you. You taught us love and how to fight, You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find, And in your heart, you were always kind. You fought for us all in one way or another, Not just as a wife not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best, Now the time has come for you to rest. So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep, Your love in our hearts, we’ll eternally keep.
One of my cousins friends who was also in my sewing class is going to be celebrating her 30th birthday with a fabulous masquerade ball.
I'm so excited
I have always wanted one of those masks and now I have the perfect excuse! I have organised my costume so I just have to find a matching mask + accessories.
I am also in the process of convincing C that he will need to wear a cape. Fingers crossed!
My bestie, N, is a nail addict. I don't think there has been a day where I have seen her without nail polish! She even gave me a manicur once when I was feeling down - It was lovely. So I have taken a leaf from her book and bought some OPI nail polish online. I first tried Trans Design which is where N buys hers but when I went to the checkout, the total price including shipping was about $90! For a first time 'online nail polish buyer' I was a little taken back.
I then Googled for another place to buy and alas, Vogue forums to the rescue (seriously, that place is nuts! I am not a member but whenever I need advice/info that is always the first place where answers are found!) anyway, back on track. They recommended a place called nailsetc.com and one of them posted a coupon which allows for 10% Off your order! YEAH! SO here's the coupon for the rest of you: 15au10prz and this is what I bought:
Left to right: Conga line coral, Dating a royal, Go on green, Jade is the new black, Need Sunglasses, Y'all come back ya hear and You're a doll.
I have gone a little crazy with the online spending this last week and I REALLY should stop but for some reason I have come across some really neat stuff that I NEED. See below and you will see what I mean...
All I know is the sun is shining yet we fight on through the night while the burgs are melting and the sea is rising I don’t know so I ask them why.
And all I know is the sun is shining yet we fight on through the night well if you don’t know shit I don’t know I guess all we can do is ask them why.
- The Sea is Rising - Bliss and Eso
I saw these guys perfom at the BDO in Sydney - I had known some of their songs previously but actually hearing them play this particular song live with the whole atmosphere of the crowd, it was pretty awesome - I even BOUGHT the song from iTunes. Go me.
I have decided to make the most of 2011. Updating my style is Step One. I needed some inspiration and I think my trip to Melbourne lit the spark I used to have. I can't believe I have been so drab! Boo.
So lately I have been browsing the world of bloggers and online stores and there is definitely no shortage of inspiration. However I really am sick of those blogs that say "I had a dream about clouds, so I am going to share pictures of clouds with you..." and then randmongly post the 10 cloud pictures they found on Google images. It makes those great blogs out there hard to find. Lookbook and StyleDiary etc are a great guide and I basically went through and did a bit of 'stalker' action - finding people roughly my age and if I liked there style, read their blogs for hours. Crazy, but it definitley gave me some great ideas! (I have even started taking photos on my iPhone with an app called Closet Diary that allows me to quickly snap the day' outfit - COOOL).
